Mental health: do canaries suffer from depression and anxiety?

      • 9% of our population currently has a mental health problem; and 25% will have it at some point in their life. 
      • Between 2% and 5% of the adult population has a serious mental disorder, equivalent to more than 3 million people. 
      • 2 million young people, ages 15-29, have suffered from a mental disorder in the last year. 
      • More than half of people with a mental disorder do not receive adequate treatment.
      • 6% of the population suffers from anxiety. The same number of people who suffer from depression.
      • Every year a total of 3.600- 3.700 people commit suicide in Spain. 

How do canaries coexist with regard to these diseases?


According to
