What will our reality be like after the pandemic?

  • Published by: Canary Doctor

After weeks of confinement we all ask ourselves the same question: when will we return to life as we knew it?

Without a doubt, this is the most difficult question for public health specialists to answer. Experts insist that it will depend on the evolution of the epidemic, the ability to do mass testing y control in detail every suspicious case to recommend again the isolation.

What we do know is that the "back to normal" It will be done gradually and taking many precautions. This supposes reduce the capacity of establishments and public spaces but above all control hygiene measures.

Experts raise the widespread use of masks and gloves y enable special planes to take on the mobile, where the areas where cases were detected in the past will be marked. This will involve generalized viral tests.

Un study by the Biomedical Engineering faculty at Harvard University has warned that, without a vaccine, social isolation should be maintained until 2022. According to scientists, a single confinement will not stop the pandemic, and repeated periods of social distancing will be required.

What will be our new reality?

As the transmission levels They are low enough we will see how social activity will open up. According to epidemiologists, it is likely that lolder people or people with certain pathologies have to prolong their confinement more than young and healthy people.

At the health field very important changes will take place. In other words, the services as they are working now are going to have to change. There will have to be separate services to avoid treating respiratory symptoms in the same place as other illnesses so that possible cases of Covid-19 do not share waiting rooms with those who use them the most: the elderly and vulnerable.

Some epidemiologists also speak of a possible differentiation by Autonomous Communities. Not all of them are going through the same period of the epidemic, so it may make sense that not all measures are identical and at the same time for them.

Return to work

To try to sustain the world economy, return to work is an issue to be solved imminently. The criterion that has been applied is to give "green light" to those professions that can be done outdoors and where the social distancing measures, such as the construction sector or highly industrial sectors.

Specialists advise extending teleworking as much as possible. Although it is not suitable for everyone, this measure is really capable of minimizing the consequences of processes with contagious infectious diseases.

What will our summer be like?

Possibly we will enjoy days of beach and sun again but it is reasonable to think that this can be done in one in a controlled way and without crowds. Reduce density and crowding and, above all, change our priorities.

We will need to return to more responsible consumption. We're passing by facing a phenomenon that our generation has never experienced. This virus is here to stay and until a vaccine is obtained the risk of contagion will be present at any time in our social life.

We have to accept that our lives will change in the coming months and that the massive concentrations will not be able to repeat themselves, such as sporting events, concerts, crowded stores ... But we will return to salirWe will return to take a walk and play sports we will return to enjoy meetings and moments with the family and Friends being all companies y conscious of risks.
